How to choose bubble wrap

Bubble wrap is sold by width and length. We work out the delivered price per square foot (the width in feet times the total length), so a 12 inch × 30 ft roll and a 24 inch × 350 ft roll can be compared fairly. Longer rolls nearly always cost less per square foot, but cost more up front.

12 inch rolls are the easy everyday width for wrapping items one by one; 24 inch and wider rolls suit bigger items, furniture and moving. Small 3/16" bubble is the usual choice for wrapping and surface protection; large 1/2" bubble gives more cushioning for heavy or fragile items. Where a listing doesn't say which, we show it as not stated.
